Comprehensive Strategy Screener

Find settings that match your return and risk criteria.

Explore precomputed results across 23 supported markets and five timeframes. Pro filters help you narrow the results by win rate, profit factor, trades, MDD and CAGR—without running every test yourself.

  1. Choose markets, timeframes and a starting year.
  2. With Pro, enter the performance ranges that matter to you.
  3. Compare, sort the results and open a setting for closer research.

Start in Strategy screener. Choose markets, timeframes and a starting year. Strategy Compare brings the published backtests together, so you can compare settings without repeating every test yourself.

With Pro, filter by win rate, profit factor, trades, maximum drawdown and compound annual growth. Here we require at least thirty trades and limit drawdown to fifty percent. Enter drawdown limits as positive numbers.

Click Compare, then use the metric headings to sort the matching results. Open a strategy name to investigate that exact backtest. A high historical ranking is a research lead, not a promise of future profit.

  1. Open Strategy performance and choose a strategy.
  2. Use the heatmap to compare markets and timeframes.
  3. Switch to List, sort a metric and open a specific backtest.

Open Strategy performance. Search by name, author, type or keyword, then select a strategy. Its main page explains how it trades and brings its published backtests into one place.

In the heatmap, every cell belongs to the same strategy. Rows represent markets and columns represent timeframes. Compare returns, maximum drawdown, profit factor and excess return. Weak results and insufficient samples matter too.

Choose List for a closer comparison, and click a metric heading to change the order. Select a strategy name in a row, or a heatmap cell, to open that market and timeframe's detailed backtest.

Compare Returns—and the Risks Behind Them

Understand the trade-offs behind the headline return.

Review net returns alongside drawdown, profit factor, Sharpe ratio, CAGR and buy-and-hold comparisons. Published commission and slippage assumptions are included, so you can judge both the result and the risks taken to reach it.

  1. Open a specific strategy setting.
  2. Compare return, drawdown and the buy-and-hold benchmark.
  3. Inspect the equity curve, trade history and methodology.

Open a specific backtest from the screener or a strategy's main page. Check the market, timeframe and dates. Review drawdown, profit factor, Sharpe ratio and trade count alongside the headline return.

The equity chart compares the strategy with buy and hold. Look at the path, not only the final value. A profitable strategy can still underperform its benchmark or experience a drawdown you would not accept.

Scroll down to review the recorded commission and slippage assumptions and the trade history. Pro includes the complete trade history. Methodology explains the calculation rules. These are independent backtests and may differ from TradingView.

  1. Select settings in the screener, or favourite a setting on its backtest page.
  2. Return to Favourites to review your saved settings.
  3. Select different strategies with the same start date to build a portfolio.

In the screener, tick the settings you want to keep, then choose Add selected to favourites. You can also favourite a setting on its detailed backtest page. This builds a shortlist of your research.

Confirm Add to favourites. The list keeps the strategy, market, timeframe and starting year together. Free accounts can save three distinct strategies, and Pro can save twenty. Multiple settings of one strategy count once.

Select two to ten different strategies with the same starting date. Choose Create portfolio from selected settings to continue your research in the portfolio builder. Use Remove whenever a setting no longer belongs on your shortlist.

Build a Portfolio of Strategies

See how your strategies work together.

Combine two to ten strategies and review the portfolio's equity curve and performance alongside its components. Start with equal weights on Free, or adjust allocations with Pro. Check whether the combination improves drawdowns rather than assuming it will.

  1. Choose strategies, markets, timeframes and a shared start date.
  2. Name the portfolio; use equal weights or adjust them with Pro.
  3. Build it, review the combined metrics and overlay component curves.

Send compatible favourites to the portfolio builder, or start from Portfolios. Choose two to ten different strategies and check each market, timeframe and shared starting date. Give the portfolio a name you will recognise.

Free provides one equal-weight portfolio. With Pro, adjust the weights using whole percentages, from five to fifty percent each, totalling one hundred. Pro also lets you choose an end date within the available published data.

Build the portfolio, then review its combined metrics alongside the individual strategies. Tick rows to overlay their equity curves. The chart is indexed to one hundred. Compare drawdowns and returns together; diversification does not guarantee a better result.

Compare Portfolio Alternatives

  1. Duplicate an existing portfolio.
  2. Open the copy and change its weights or end date.
  3. Return to Saved portfolios and compare both versions.

On Saved portfolios, Pro users can duplicate an existing portfolio. The copy keeps the original available, giving you a separate version for exploring an alternative allocation or test period.

In the copy, change the component weights and click Update weights and results. Here we change forty, thirty, thirty to fifty, twenty-five, twenty-five. You can also change the end date and recalculate.

Return to Saved portfolios to compare composition, return and drawdown. Keep the same dates when isolating the effect of weights. Open either portfolio for the full analysis. Choose based on the trade-offs, not just the highest return.
